ন্ড়্ত্য আরম্ভিলা প্রভু জগতের প্রাণ ১

śrīharibāsare — on Śrī Hari-bāsara; hari — Hari; kīrtana — chanting; bidhāna — prescript, arrangement, prescribing; nṛtya — dance; ārambhilā — began; prabhu — the Lord; jagatera — of the universe; prāṇa — life, soul
On Ekādaśī, after decreeing hari-kīrtana, Mahāprabhu, who is the life and soul of the universe, begins to dance in ecstasy.
পুণ্যবন্ত শ্রীবাসঅঙ্গনে শুভারম্ভ
উঠিল কীর্তনধ্বনি ‘গোপালঽ ‘গোবিন্দঽ ২
puṇyabanta śrībāsa-aṅgane śubhārambha
uṭhila kīrtana-dhbani ‘gopāla’ ‘gobinda’ 2
puṇyabanta — virtuous; śrībāsa — Śrīvāsa; aṅgane — in the courtyard; śubhārambha — auspicious + commencement; uṭhila — arose; kīrtana — kīrtana; dhbani — sound; gopāla’ — 'Gopāla'; gobinda’ — 'Govinda'
In the courtyard of the virtuous Śrīvāsa, the auspicious sounds of kīrtana—Gopāla! Govinda!—reverberates loudly.
ম্ড়্দঙ্গমন্দিরা বাজে শঙ্খকরতাল
সঙ্কীর্তনসঙ্গে সব হইল মিশাল ৩
mṛdaṅga-mandirā bāje śaṅkha-karatāla
saṅkīrtana-saṅge saba ha·ila miśāla 3
mṛdaṅga — mṛdaṅga drums; mandirā — small, cup-shaped cymbals; bāje — resounded; śaṅkha — conch; karatāla — cymbals; saṅkīrtana — congregational chanting; saṅge — with; saba — all; ha·ila miśāla — blended
The sounds of the mṛdaṅga, mandirā (small, cup-shaped cymbals), conch, and karatāla all blend nicely with the saṅkīrtana.
ব্রহ্মাণ্ড ভেদিল ধ্বনি পূরিয়া আকাশ
চৌদিকের অমঙ্গল যায় সব নাশ ৪
brahmāṇḍa bhedila dhbani pūriyā ākāśa
caudikera amaṅgala yāya saba nāśa 4
brahmāṇḍa — the whole universe; bhedila — penetrated; dhbani — sounds; pūriyā — having filled; ākāśa — sky; caudikera — of the four directions; amaṅgala — inauspiciouness; yāya — becomes; saba — all; nāśa — annihilated
The thunderous sound penetrates the universe, filling the whole sky. Everything inauspicious in all four directions is annihilated.
ঊষঃকাল হৈতে ন্ড়্ত্য করে বিশ্বম্ভর
যূথ যূথ হৈল যত গায়ন সুন্দর ৫
ūṣaḥkāla haite nṛtya kare biśbambhara
yūtha yūtha haila yata gāyana sundara 5
ūṣaḥkāla — dawn, daybreak + time; haite — at; nṛtya kare — dances; biśbambhara — Lord Viśvambhara; yūtha yūtha — individual groups; haila — happened; yata — all the; gāyana — singing; sundara — charming
At dawn, Viśvambhara dances while the [kīrtana] groups formed sing charmingly.
শ্রীবাসপণ্ডিত লয়া এক সম্প্রদায়
মুকুন্দ লইয়া আর জন কত গায় ৬
śrībāsa-paṇḍita layā eka sampradāya
mukunda la·iyā āra jana kata gāya 6
śrībāsa paṇḍita — Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita; layā — with; eka — one; sampradāya — group; mukunda — Mukunda; la·iyā — with; āra — and, others; jana — people; kata — many; gāya — sing
One group is with Śrīvāsa Paṇḍita, and many others sing with Mukunda Datta.
লইয়া গোবিন্দ ঘোষ আর কতজন
গৌরচন্দ্রন্ড়্ত্যে সবে করেন কীর্তন ৭
la·iyā gobinda ghoṣa āra kata-jana
gauracandra-nṛtye sabe karena kīrtana 7
la·iyā — with; gobinda ghoṣa — Govinda Ghoṣa; āra — others; kata — many; jana — people; gauracandra — the moon-like Gaura; nṛtye — while dancing; sabe — everyone; karena — performs; kīrtana — chanting
There are many more with Govinda Ghoṣa. As Gaura-candra dances, everyone performs kīrtana.
ধরিয়া বুলেন নিত্যানন্দ মহাবলী
অলক্ষিতে অদ্বৈত লয়েন পদধূলি ৮
dhariyā bulena nityānanda mahābalī
alakṣite adbaita layena padadhūli 8
dhariyā — having held; bulena — passes the hand lightly over; nityānanda — Nityānanda; mahābalī — the mighty; alakṣite — without being seen, stealthily; adbaita — Advaita Ācārya; layena — takes; padadhūli — foot + dust
The mighty Nityānanda Prabhu holds onto Mahāprabhu and gently strokes Him, while Advaita Ācārya secretly takes His foot dust.
গদাধরআদি যত সজল নয়নে
আনন্দে বিহ্বল হৈল প্রভুর কীর্তনে ৯
gadādhara-ādi yata sajala nayane
ānande bihbala haila prabhura kīrtane 9
gadādhara — Gadādhara Paṇḍita; ādi — and others; yata — whatever; sajala — tearful; nayane — with eyes; ānande — in happiness; bihbala — overwhelmed; haila — became; prabhura — the Lord’s; kīrtane — by kīrtana
Their eyes brimming with tears, Gadādhara and others become overwhelmed in transcendental happiness, due to Mahāprabhu’s kīrtana.
যখন উদ্দণ্ড নাচে প্রভু বিশ্বম্ভর
প্ড়্থিবী কম্পিত হয় সবে পায় ডর ১০
yakhana uddaṇḍa nāce prabhu biśbambhara
pṛthibī kampita haya sabe pāya ḍara 10
yakhana — when; uddaṇḍa — powerfully, uncontrollably; nāce — dances; prabhu — the Lord; biśbambhara — Viśvambhara; pṛthibī — the earth; kampita haya — trembles; sabe — everone; pāya — gets; ḍara — frightened
When Viśvambhara dances with great force, the Earth trembles and everyone becomes afraid.
কখনো বা মধুর নাচয়ে বিশ্বম্ভর
যেন দেখি নন্দের নন্দন নটবর ১১
kakhano bā madhura nācaye biśbambhara
yena dekhi nandera nandana naṭabara 11
kakhano — sometimes; bā — so [empathetic particle]; madhura — sweetly; nācaye — dances; biśbambhara — Viśvambhara; yena — just as; dekhi — looks; nandera — Nanda’s; nandana — son; naṭabara — the best of dancers
Sometimes Viśvambhara dances so sweetly that He appears to be the son of Nanda, the best of dancers.
অপরূপ ক্ড়্ষ্ণাবেশ, অপরূপ ন্ড়্ত্য
আনন্দে নয়ন ভরি দেখে সব ভ্ড়্ত্য ১২
aparūpa kṛṣṇābeśa, aparūpa nṛtya
ānande nayana bhari dekhe saba bhṛtya 12
aparūpa — unprecedented, incomparably beautiful, wonderful; kṛṣṇābeśa — Kṛṣṇa + attachment, love, rapture; aparūpa — incomparably beautiful; nṛtya — dancing; ānande — with joy; nayana — eyes; bhari — having filled; dekhe — see; saba — all; bhṛtya — servants
Their eyes filled with joy, Mahāprabhu’s servants observe His unprecedented love for Śrī Kṛṣṇa and His incomparably beautiful dancing.
নিজানন্দে নাচে মহাপ্রভু বিশ্বম্ভর
চরণের তাল শুনি অতি মনোহর ১৩
nijānande nāce mahāprabhu biśbambhara
caraṇera tāla śuni ati manohara 13
nijānande — own + in happiness; nāce — dances; mahāprabhu — Mahāprabhu; biśbambhara — Viśvambhara; caraṇera — of feet; tāla — rhythmic; śuni — sounded; ati — extremely; manohara — captivating
Mahāprabhu Viśvambhara dances, rejoicing in His own transcendental happiness. The rhythmic sound of His lotus feet is extremely captivating.
ভাবভরে মালা নাহি রহয়ে গলায়
ছিণ্ডিয়া পḓঅয়ে গিয়া ভকতের পায় ১৪
bhāba-bhare mālā nāhi rahaye galāya
chiṇḍiyā paḓaye giyā bhakatera pāya 14
bhāba — ecstacy, emotion; bhare — by the weight; mālā — garland; nāhi — not; rahaye — remain, stay; galāya — on neck; chiṇḍiyā — having broken; paḓaye — falls; giyā — having gone; bhakatera — devotees; pāya — at the feet
Under the weight of His ecstatic emotions, His garland is unable to remain around His neck. Breaking apart, it falls at the feet of the devotees.
চতুর্দিকে শ্রীহরিমঙ্গলসঙ্কীর্তন
মাঝে নাচে জগন্নাথমিশ্রের নন্দন ১৫
caturdike śrīhari-maṅgala-saṅkīrtana
mājhe nāce jagannātha-miśrera nandana 15
caturdike — four + in directions; śrīhari — Śrī Hari; maṅgala — auspicious; saṅkīrtana — congregational chanting; mājhe — in the midst; nāce — dances; jagannātha miśrera — Jagannātha Miśra’s; nandana — son
The auspiciousness of śrī harināma saṅkīrtana spreads in all four directions as the son of Jagannātha Miśra dances in the midst [of the devotees].
যাংঽর নামানন্দে শিব বসন না জানে
যাংঽর যশে নাচে শিব, সে নাচে আপনে ১৬

yā̃’ra yaśe nāce śiba, se nāce āpane 16
yā̃’ra — whose; nāmānande — name + in the bliss; śiba — Lord Śiva; basana — clothing; nā — not; jāne — knows; yā̃’ra — whose; yaśe — by glories; nāce — dances; śiba — Lord Śiva; se — He; nāce — dances; āpane — Himself
Absorbed in the bliss of Śrī Hari’s name, Śiva becomes oblivious to his own clothing. He whose glories impel Śiva to dance in ecstasy also dances Himself.
যাংঽর নামে বাল্মীকি হইলা তপোধন
যাংঽর নামে অজামিল পাইল মোচন ১৭

yā̃’ra nāme ajāmila pāila mocana 17
yā̃’ra — whose; nāme — by name; bālmīki — Vālmīki; ha·ilā — happened; tapodhana — austerities + wealth; yā̃’ra — whose; nāme — by name; ajāmila — Ajāmila; pāila — received; mocana — deliverance
By His name, Vālmīki achieved the wealth of austerity, and by His name, Ajāmila received deliverance.
যাংঽর নামশ্রবণে সংসারবন্ধ ঘুচে
হেন প্রভু অবতরিঽ কলিয়ুগে নাচে ১৮
yā̃’ra nāma-śrabaṇe saṁsāra-bandha ghuce
hena prabhu abatari’ kaliyuge nāce 18
yā̃’ra — whose; nāma — name; śrabaṇe — by hearing; saṁsāra — material world; bandha — bindings; ghuce — destroys; hena — such; prabhu — Lord; abatari’ — having descended; kaliyuge — in the age of Kali; nāce — dances
By hearing His name, the bindings of the material world are destroyed. That Lord, having descended, dances in the age of Kali.
যাংঽর নাম গাইঽ শুকনারদ বেḓআয়
সহস্রবদন প্রভু যাংঽর গুণ গায় ১৯
yā̃’ra nāma gāi’ śuka-nārada beḓāya
sahasra-badana prabhu yā̃’ra guṇa gāya 19
yā̃’ra — whose; nāma — name; gāi’ — having sung; śuka — Śukadeva Gosvāmī; nārada — Nārada Muṇi; beḓāya — wonder; sahasra — a thousand; badana — mouths [Ananta-śeṣa]; prabhu — Lord; yā̃’ra — whose; guṇa — qualities, glories; gāya — sings
His name is chanted by Śukadeva and Nārada as they wander about. His glories are sung by the Lord of innumerable mouths [Śrī Anantadeva].
সর্ব মহাপ্রায়শ্চিত্ত যে প্রভুর নাম
সেপ্রভু নাচয়ে, দেখে যত ভাগ্যবান্ ২০
sarba mahā-prāyaścitta ye prabhura nāma
se-prabhu nācaye, dekhe yata bhāgyabān 20
sarba — all; mahā — greatest; prāyaścitta — atonement; ye — that; prabhura — Lord’s; nāma — name; se — that; prabhu — Lord; nācaye — dances; dekhe — looks, sees; yata — whatever; bhāgyabān — fortunate
His name constitutes the highest form of atonement. That Lord dances while those who are supremely fortunate look on.
প্রভুর আনন্দ দেখিঽ ভাগবতগণ
অন্যোন্যে গলা ধরিঽ করয়ে ক্রন্দন ২১
prabhura ānanda dekhi’ bhāgabatagaṇa
anyonye galā dhari’ karaye krandana 21
prabhura — the Lord’s; ānanda — bliss, happiness; dekhi’ — having seen; bhāgabatagaṇa — devotees; anyonye — to one another; galā dhari’ — having embraced (lit. neck having held); karaye krandana — weep
Seeing Mahāprabhu’s transcendental bliss, the associates of the Lord embrace each other and weep.
সবার অঙ্গেতে শোভে শ্রীচন্দনমালা
আনন্দে গায়েন ক্ড়্ষ্ণরসে হইঽ ভোলা ২২
sabāra aṅgete śobhe śrīcandana-mālā
ānande gāyena kṛṣṇa-rase ha·i’ bholā 22
sabāra — everyone’s; aṅgete — on bodies; śobhe — grace; śrīcandana — sandal paste; mālā — garlands; ānande — in bliss; gāyena — they sing; kṛṣṇa — Kṛṣṇa; rase — in nectar; ha·i’ — having become; bholā — oblivious
Sandal paste and garlands grace everyone’s bodies. They sing in great bliss, forgetting their own selves, due to immersion in kṛṣṇa-rasa.
যতেক বৈষ্ণব সব কীর্তনআবেশে
না জানে আপন দেহ, অন্য জন কিসে ২৩
yateka baiṣṇaba saba kīrtana-ābeśe
nā jāne āpana deha, anya jana kise 23
yateka — as many; baiṣṇaba — Vaiṣṇavas; saba — all; kīrtana — chanting; ābeśe — entranced in; nā — not; jāne — knows; āpana — own; deha — bodies; anya — other; jana — people; kise — how / in which way
Entranced in kīrtana, all the Vaiṣṇavas lose complete sense of their own bodies and of everyone around them.
“জয় ক্ড়্ষ্ণমুরারিমুকুন্দবনমালী ”
অহর্নিশ গায় সবে হইঽ কুতূহলী ২৪
“jaya kṛṣṇa-murāri-mukunda-banamālī ”
aharniśa gāya sabe ha·i’ kutūhalī 24
jaya — all glories; kṛṣṇa — Kṛṣṇa; murāri — Murāri; mukunda — Mukunda; banamālī — Vanamālī; aharniśa — day + night; gāya — sing; sabe — everyone; ha·i’ — having become; kutūhalī — delighted
Delighted, everyone sings day and night, “Jaya Kṛṣṇa, Murāri, Mukunda, Vanamālī!”
অহর্নিশ ভক্তসঙ্গে নাচে বিশ্বম্ভর
শ্রান্তি নাহি কারো, সবে সত্ত্বকলেবর ২৫
aharniśa bhakta-saṅge nāce biśbambhara
śrānti nāhi kāro, sabe sattba-kalebara 25
aharniśa — day + night; bhakta — devotees; saṅge — with; nāce — dances; biśbambhara — Viśvambhara; śrānti — fatigue, tiredness, exhaustion; nāhi — not; kāro — to anyone; sabe — everyone; sattba — transcendental; kalebara — bodies
Day and night, Viśvambhara dances with the devotees, but they never become fatigued, because their bodies are fully transcendental.
এইমত নাচে মহাপ্রভু বিশ্বম্ভর
নিশি অবশেষ মাত্র সে এক প্রহর ২৬
eimata nāce mahāprabhu biśbambhara
niśi abaśeṣa mātra se eka prahara 26

In such a manner, Mahāprabhu Viśvambhara dances the entire night, except for one prahara [during which He sleeps].
এইমত আনন্দ হয় নবদ্বীপ পুরে
প্রেমরসে বৈকুণ্ঠের নায়ক বিহরে ২৭
eimata ānanda haya nabadbīpa pure
premarase baikuṇṭhera nāyaka bihare 27
eimata — this + way; ānanda — happiness, joy; haya — happens; nabadbīpa — Navadvīpa; pure — in the town; premarase — love + in nectar, mellows; baikuṇṭhera — Vaikuṇṭha’s; nāyaka — hero; bihare — sports
In this way, transcendental happiness arises in the land of Navadvīpa as the hero of Vaikuṇṭha sports in prema-rasa.
এসকল পুণ্য কথা যে করে শ্রবণ
ভক্তসঙ্গে গৌরচন্দ্রে রহু তাঽর মন ২৮
e-sakala puṇya kathā ye kare śrabaṇa
bhaktasaṅge gauracandre rahu tā’ra mana 28
e — this; sakala — all; puṇya — auspicious; kathā — topics; ye — who; kare śrabaṇa — hears; bhaktasaṅge — devotees + with; gauracandre — the moon-like Gaura; rahu — remain; tā’ra — his; mana — heart
Gaura-candra and His associates remain in the hearts of those who hear this entire auspicious description.
শ্রীক্ড়্ষ্ণচৈতন্যনিত্যানন্দচান্দ জান
ব্ড়্ন্দাবন দাস তছু পদয়ুগে গান ২৯
śrīkṛṣṇacaitanya-nityānandacā̃da jāna
bṛndābana dāsa tachu padayuge gāna 29
śrīkṛṣṇacaitanya — Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya; nityānandacā̃da — the moon-like Nityānanda; bṛndābana dāsa — Vṛndāvana dāsa; tachu — His; padayuge — feet + to the two; gāna — song
Vṛndāvana dāsa offers this song at the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya and the moon-like Nityānanda Prabhu.
