এমন দুর্মতি, সংসারভিতরে,
পḓইয়া আছিনু আমি
তব নিজজন, কোন মহাজনে,
পাঠাইয়া দিলে তুমি ১

emana durmati, saṁsāra-bhitare,
paḓiyā āchinu āmi
taba nija-jana, kona mahājane,
pāṭhāiyā dile tumi 1
(prabhu he — O Lord; emana — such; durmati — wretched; saṁsāra — the material world; bhitare — into; paḓiyā — having fallen; āchinu — was; āmi — I; taba — Your; nija — own; jana — associates; kona — one; mahājane — exalted soul; pāṭhāiyā dile — sent; tumi — You
O Lord ! I am so unfortunate to have fallen into this material world, but You have sent an exalted soul, one of Your own associates, [to save me].
দয়া করিঽ মোরে, পতিত দেখিয়া,
কহিল আমারে গিয়া
‘ওহে দীনজন, শুন ভাল কথা,
উল্লসিত হবে হিয়া ২
dayā kari’ more, patita dekhiyā,
kahila āmāre giyā
‘ohe dīnajana, śuna bhāla kathā,
ullasita habe hiyā 2
dayā kari’ — having been compassionate; more — to me; patita — fallen; dekhiyā — having seen; kahila — he said; āmāre — to me; giyā — having gone; ohe dīnajana — O humbled soul; śuna — listen; bhāla — good; kathā — advice; ullasita — joyful; habe — will become; hiyā — heart
Being compassionate upon seeing me in such a fallen condition, he said, “O humbled soul, listen to this good advice by which your heart will become joyful.
তোমারে তারিতে, শ্রীক্ড়্ষ্ণচৈতন্য,
নবদ্বীপে অবতার
তোমাঽ হেন কত, দীন হীন জনে,
করিলেন ভবপার ৩

tomā’ hena kata, dīna hīna jane,

tomāre — to you; tārite — to deliver; śrīkṛṣṇacaitanya — Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya; nabadbīpe — in Navadvīpa; abatāra — descended; tomā’ — you; hena — such as; kata — many; dīna — poor; hīna — lowly; jane — to people; karilena — he made; bhabapāra — material existence + cross over
“To deliver you, Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya has descended to the land of Navadvīpa. He has conducted so many poor and lowly souls like you across the ocean of material existence.
বেদের প্রতিজ্ঞা, রাখিবার তরে,
রুক্মবর্ণ বিপ্রসুত
মহাপ্রভু নামে, নদীয়া মাতায়,
সঙ্গে ভাই অবধূত ৪
bedera pratijñā, rākhibāra tare,
rukmabarṇa biprasuta
mahāprabhu nāme, nadīyā mātāya,
saṅge bhāi abadhūta 4
bedera — of the Vedas; pratijñā — the promise; rākhibāra — to keep; tare — for the purpose; rukmabarṇa — radiant golden + complexion; biprasuta — of a brāhmaṇa + son; mahāprabhu — ‘Mahāprabhu’; nāme — by the name; nadīyā — [all of] Nadīyā; mātāya — maddened; saṅge — with; bhāi — brother; abadhūta — Nityānanda Prabhu who is beyond mundane, social conventions*
“In order to fulfill the promise of the Vedas, He has appeared with a golden complexion as the son of a brāhmaṇa. Known by the name ‘Mahāprabhu’, He and His brother, the avadhūta Nityānanda, have caused all of Nadīyā to become maddened in divine ecstasy.
নন্দসুত যিনি, চৈতন্যগোসাইং,
নিজনাম করিঽ দান
তারিল জগৎ, তুমিও যাইয়া,
লহ নিজ পরিত্রাণ ৫ঽ
nandasuta yini, caitanya-gosāĩ,
nija-nāma kari’ dāna
tārila jagat, tumio yāiyā,
laha nija paritrāṇa 5’
nandasuta — the son of Nanda Mahārāja; yini — who; caitanya — Śrī Caitanya; gosāĩ — the great personality; nija — his own; nāma — names; kari’ dāna — having distributed; tārila — He delivered; jagat — the world; tumio — you + also; yāiyā — having gone; laha — take; nija — your; paritrāṇa — deliverance
“Śrī Caitanya, who is directly the son of Nanda, has saved the world by distributing His own holy name. You go, also, and receive your deliverance.”
সেকথা শুনিয়া, আসিয়াছি, নাথ!
তোমার চরণতলে
ভকতিবিনোদ, কান্দিয়া কান্দিয়া,
আপন কাহিনী বলে ৬

se — these; kathā — words; śuniyā — having heard; āsiyāchi — I have come; nātha — O Lord; tomāra — Your; caraṇatale — feet + beneath; bhakatibinoda — Bhaktivinoda; kā̃diyā kā̃diyā — weeping and weeping; āpana — his; kāhinī — story; bale — he tells
O Lord, hearing these words, Bhaktivinoda has come to Your lotus feet. Weeping, he tells the story of his life.
