parama — supremely; karuṇa — merciful; pãhu — Lords; duijana — the two; nitāi gauracandra — Nitāi and Gauracandra; saba — all; abatāra — incarnations; sāra — essence; śiromaṇi — crown-jewels; kebala — absolute; ānanda — bliss; kanda — (mūl) source (root)
The two Lords, Nitāi and Gaura-candra, are supremely merciful. They are the essence and the crown-jewels of all avatāras, and They are the source of absolute bliss.
ভজ ভজ ভাই, চৈতন্যনিতাই,
সুদ্ড়্ḓহ বিশ্বাস করিঽ
বিষয় ছাḓইয়া, সেরসে মজিয়া,
মুখে বল হরি হরি ২
bhaja bhaja bhāi, caitanya-nitāi,
sudṛḓha biśbāsa kari’
biṣaya chāḓiyā, se-rase majiyā,
mukhe bala hari hari 2
bhaja bhaja — worship, just worship; bhāi — O brother; caitanya nitāi — Caitanya-Nitāi; sudṛḓha — very firm or strong, very steady, absolutely unwavering*; biśbāsa — faith; kari’ — having put; biṣaya — material enjoyment; chāḓiyā — having renounced; se — that; rase — in nectar; majiyā — having drowned; mukhe — from mouth, lips; bala — chant; hari hari — “Hari, Hari”
O brother, worship Caitanya-Nitāi with unwavering faith. Renouncing material enjoyment and drowning yourself in that rasa [of worshiping Them], let your lips chant, “Hari, Hari!”
দেখ ওরে ভাই, ত্রিভুবনে নাই,
এমন দয়াল দাতা
পশু পাখী ঝুরে, পাষাণ বিদরে,
শুনিঽ যাংঽর গুণগাথা ৩
dekha ore bhāi, tribhubane nāi,
emana dayāla dātā
paśu pākhī jhure, pāṣāṇa bidare,
śuni’ yā̃’ra guṇagāthā 3
dekha — see (imperative); ore bhāi — O dear brother; tribhubane — in the three worlds; nāi — not; emana — such; dayāla — mercy; dātā — givers of charity, munificent; paśu — animals; pākhī — birds; jhure — shed tears; pāṣāṇa — stones; bidare — melt; śuni’ — having heard; yā̃’ra — whose; guṇagāthā — glories + narrations
Just see, dear brother! In all the three worlds, no one bestows mercy like They do. Animals and birds shed tears and stones melt upon hearing narrations of Their glories.
সংসারে মজিয়া, রহিলে পḓইয়া,
সেপদে নহিল আশ
আপন করম, ভুঞ্জায় শমন,
কহয়ে লোচনদাস ৪
saṁsāre majiyā, rahile paḓiyā,
se-pade nahila āśa
āpana karama, bhuñjāya śamana,
kahaye locanadāsa 4
saṁsāre — in material enjoyment; majiyā — having drowned, having lost yourself; rahile — you remained; paḓiyā — having fell; se — those; pade — for feet; nahila — has not; āśa — aspiration; āpana — your own; karama — misdeeds; bhuñjāya — suffer, undergo; śamana — the Lord of Death, Yama; kahaye — says; locanadāsa — Locana dāsa
Locana dāsa says, “Since you remain submerged in material enjoyment, the aspiration to take shelter of Their lotus feet has not arisen. Thus you suffer the consequences of your own misdeeds, as meted out by Lord Yama.”
