বন্ধুসঙ্গে যদি তব রঙ্গ পরিহাস, থাকে অভিলাষ

তবে মোর কথা রাখ, যেয়ো নাকো যেয়ো নাকো,
মথুরায় কেশীতীর্থঘাটের সকাশ ১

tabe mora kathā rākha, yeyo nāko yeyo nāko,
mathurāya keśītīrtha-ghāṭera sakāśa 1
bandhusaṅge — friends + with; yadi — if; taba — your; raṅga — fun; parihāsa — laughter; (thāke — remains; abhilāṣa) — desire; tabe — then; mora — my; kathā — words; rākha — heed; yeyo — go; nāko — not; yeyo — go; nāko — not; mathurāya — in Mathurā; keśītīrtha ghāṭera — Keśī-ghāṭa’s; sakāśa — near
If you have the desire to have fun and laugh with friends, then heed my words: don’t go, do not go near Keśī-ghāṭa in Mathurā.
গোবিন্দবিগ্রহ ধরিঽ, তথায় আছেন হরি,
নয়নে বঙ্কিমদ্ড়্ষ্টি, মুখে মন্দহাস
কিবা ত্রিভঙ্গম ঠাম, বর্ণ সমুজ্জ্বল শ্যাম,
নবকিশলয় শোভা শ্রীঅঙ্গে প্রকাশ ২

nayane baṅkima-dṛṣṭi, mukhe mandahāsa
kibā tribhaṅgama ṭhāma, barṇa samujjbala śyāma,
nabakiśalaya śobhā śrīaṅge prakāśa 2
gobindabigraha — Govinda + form; dhari’ — assumed; tathāya — there; āchena — is present; hari — Śrī Hari; nayane — from eyes; baṅkima — crooked; dṛṣṭi — glance; mukhe — from mouth; mandahāsa — gentle + smile; kibā — how beautiful; tribhaṅgama — curved in three places; ṭhāma — shape, form, figure, posture; barṇa — complexion; samujjbala — very bright, radiant, brilliant, illuminated; śyāma — blackish; nabakiśalaya — young, new + tender leaves; śobhā — graceful; śrīaṅge — beautiful, auspicious + by the limbs; prakāśa — appearance
There, Śrī Hari has taken the form of Govinda, whose eyes are graced with a crooked glance and whose mouth is graced with a gentle smile. How captivating is His threefold bending pose, replete with a radiant blackish complexion and limbs as lovely as tender new leaves.
অধরে বংশীটী তাঽর, অনর্থের মূলাধার,
শিখিচূḓআকেও ভাই করো না বিশ্বাস
সে মূর্তি নয়নে হেরে, কেহ নাহি ঘরে ফিরে,
সংসারী গ্ঢ়ীর যে গো হয় সর্বনাশ ৩
adhare baṁśīṭī tā’ra, anarthera mūlādhāra,
śikhicūḓākeo bhāi karo nā biśbāsa
se mūrti nayane here, keha nāhi ghare phire,
saṁsārī gṛhīra ye go haya sarbanāśa 3
adhare — on lips; baṁśīṭī — the flute; tā’ra — His; anarthera — of peril, of danger, of harm, of ruin; mūlādhāra — the real cause, the root cause; śikhicūḓākeo — peacock + to the crest, crown + and, O; bhāi — O brother; karo — do; nā — not; biśbāsa — faith.; se — that; mūrti — form; nayane — with the eyes; here — seeing; keha — anyone; nāhi — not; ghare — to home; phire — returns; saṁsārī — a family man; gṛhīra — of the household; ye — those; haya — becomes; sarbanāśa — completely + destroyed
The flute on His lips is the cause of great peril. O brother, have no faith in that crest of peacock feathers. Upon beholding that form with the eyes, no one ever returns home. The family life of a householder [who does so] becomes completely destroyed. (This is the great fear of my mind!)
(তাই মোর মনে বḓঅ ত্রাস)
ঘটিবে বিপদ ভারী, যেয়ো নাকো হে সংসারি,
মথুরায় কেশীতীর্থ ঘাটের সকাশ ৪

ghaṭibe bipada bhārī, yeyo nāko he saṁsāri,
mathurāya keśītīrtha ghāṭera sakāśa 4
(tāi — for that; mora — my; mane — in mind; baḓa — great; trāsa) — fear, anxiety.; ghaṭibe — will occur; bipada — calamity; bhārī — grave; yeyo — go; nāko — not; he — O; saṁsāri — householder; mathurāya — in Mathurā; keśītīrtha ghāṭera — Keśī-ghāṭa’s; sakāśa — near
(This is the great fear of my mind!) A grave calamity will occur, O householder, so do not go near Keśī-ghāṭa in Mathurā.
