মাধব, বহুত মিনতি করি তোয়
দেই তুলসী তিল, দেহ সমর্পিনু,
দয়া জানি না ছোḓঅবি মোয় ১

O Mādhava, I ardently solicit You! Offering tulasī and sesame, I submit my very body before You. I know that You are merciful and will not reject me.
গণইতে দোষ, গুণলেশ না পাওবি,
যব তুহুং করবি বিচার
তুহুং জগন্নাথ, জগতে কহাওসি,
জগবাহির নহি মুইং ছার ২
gaṇa·ite doṣa, guṇaleśa nā pāobi,
yaba tuhũ karabi bicāra
tuhũ jagannātha, jagate kahāosi,
jaga-bāhira nahi muĩ chāra 2
gaṇa·ite — encountering; doṣa — faults; guṇaleśa — qualities + a speck; nā — not; pāobi — you will get; yaba — when; tuhũ — You; karabi bicāra — will consider; tuhũ — You; jagannātha — Lord of the Universe; jagate — throughout the world; kahāosi — You are called; jaga — the universe; bāhira — outside; nahi — not; muĩ — I; chāra — contemptible person
Encountering only my faults, You will not find a speck of good qualities when considering my appeal. You are known throughout the world as Jagannātha (Lord of the Universe); therefore, even a contemptible person like me is not beyond Your consideration.
কিয়ে মানুষ পশু, পাখী যে জনমিয়ে,
অথবা কীটপতঙ্গে
করমবিপাকে, গতাগতি পুনঃ পুনঃ,
মতি রহু তুয়া পরসঙ্গে ৩
kiye mānuṣa paśu-, pākhī ye janamiye,
athabā kīṭa-pataṅge
karama-bipāke, gatāgati punaḥ punaḥ,
mati rahu tuyā parasaṅge 3
kiye — whether; mānuṣa — human; paśu — animal; pākhī — a bird; ye — whatever; janamiye — in birth; athabā — or; kīṭa — worm, bug; pataṅge — flying insect; karama — actions; bipāke — in consequence; gatāgati — going and coming, birth and death ; punaḥ punaḥ — again and again; mati — mind; rahu — remain; tuyā — Your, You; parasaṅge — in narrations, discussions
Impelled by my karma, I may take birth as a human, as an animal, as a bird, or even as a worm or bug. Again and again reaping the consequences of my actions, I tumble about from one fate to the next. Nonetheless, may my absorption remain in You.
ভণয়ে বিদ্যাপতি, অতিশয় কাতর,
তরইতে ইহ ভবসিন্ধু
তুয়া পদপল্লব, করি অবলম্বন,
তিল এক দেহ দীনবন্ধু ৪

tara·ite iha bhabasindhu
tuyā padapallaba, kari abalambana,
tila eka deha dīnabandhu 4
bhaṇaye — thus says; bidyāpati — Vidyāpati; atiśaya — great, excessive; kātara — distressed, aggrieved, solictious; tara·ite — escaping, crossing over; iha — this; bhabasindhu — material existence + ocean; tuyā — Your; padapallaba — feet + tender leaves; kari abalambana — I take shelter; tila — sesame; eka — one; deha — give; dīnabandhu — O friend of the lowly
In acute desperation, Vidyāpati supplicates: “In traversing this ocean of material existence, the tender leaves of Your feet are my sole mainstay. Allow me just a morsel of Your grace, O friend of the lowly.
