bhaja bhaja — worship, just worship; hari — Śrī Hari; mana — the mind; dṛḓha kari’ — having steadied; mukhe — with the lips; bola — chant; tā̃’ra — His; nāma — name; brajendranandana — the son of the king of Vraja; gopī — of the gopīs; prāṇadhana — of the life + the treasure; bhubanamohana — the universe + enchants; śyāma — dark-complexioned one
Making your mind steady, worship Śrī Hari, and with your lips, chant His holy names: Vrajendra-nandana (son of the king of Vraja), Gopī-prāṇa-dhana (treasure of the life of the gopīs), and Śyāma (dark-complexioned one), whose beauty enchants the entire universe.
কখন মরিবে, কেমনে তরিবে,
বিষম শমন ডাকে
যাংহার প্রতাপে, ভুবন কাম্পয়ে,
না জানি মর বিপাকে ২

kakhana — when; maribe — you will die; kemane — how; taribe — you will be delivered; biṣama — fearsome; śamana — lord of death; ḍāke — calls; yā̃hāra — whose; pratāpe — by power, domineering influence; bhubana — the universe; kā̃paye — quakes; nā — not; jāni — I know; mara — my; bipāke — predicament
When will you die? How will you be delivered? The fearsome lord of death, at whose power the universe quakes, is calling. You do not realize the mortal danger.
কুলধন পাইয়া, উনমত হৈয়া,
আপনাকে জান বḓঅ
শমনের দূতে, ধরিঽ পায়ে হাতে,
বান্ধিয়া করিবে জḓঅ ৩
kula-dhana pāiyā, unamata haiyā,
āpanāke jāna baḓa
śamanera dūte, dhari’ pāye hāte,
bā̃dhiyā karibe jaḓa 3
kula — noble birth, aristacracy; dhana — wealth; pāiyā — having attained; unamata — intoxicated; haiyā — having become; āpanāke — to yourself; jāna — you think; baḓa — great; śamanera — of the lord of death; dūte — by the messengers; dhari’ — having clutched; pāye — by feet; hāte — by hands; bā̃dhiyā — having bound; karibe — they will render; jaḓa — inert
Intoxicated by your high birth and wealth, you think yourself very great. Yet the messengers of the lord of death will render you inert by capturing you and binding your hands and feet.
কিবা যতি, সতী, কিবা নীচ জাতি,
যেই হরি নাহি ভজে
তবে জনমিয়া, ভ্রমিয়া ভ্রমিয়া,
রৌরবনরকে মজে ৪

tabe janamiyā, bhramiyā bhramiyā,
rauraba-narake maje 4
kibā — whether; yati — renounced; satī — chaste; kibā — whether; nīca — low; jāti — caste; yei — he who; hari — Śrī Hari; nāhi — not; bhaje — worships; tabe — then; janamiyā — having taken birth; bhramiyā bhramiyā — wondering and wondering; rauraba — Raurava; narake — in the hell; maje — drowns
Whether one is renounced, chaste, or low-caste, if he does not worship Śrī Hari, then he will take birth, wander within the material world, and drown in the hell known as Raurava.
এ দাস লোচন, ভাবে অনুক্ষণ,
ব্ড়্থাই জনম গেল
হরি না ভজিনু, বিষয়ে মজিনু,
হ্ড়্দয়ে রহল শেল ৫

bṛthāi janama gela
hari nā bhajinu, biṣaye majinu,
hṛdaye rahala śela 5
e — this; dāsa locana — Locana dāsa; bhābe — contemplates; anukṣaṇa — always; bṛthāi — in vain; janama — birth; gela — passed; hari — Śrī Hari; nā — not; bhajinu — I have worshipped; biṣaye — in sense enjoyment; majinu — I have absorbed; hṛdaye — in heart; rahala — pierces; śela — a spear
This Locana dāsa always contemplates how his life has passed in vain. I have not worshiped Śrī Hari; rather I have absorbed myself in sense enjoyment, and thus a spear pierces my heart.
