Due to my offenses, my heart has become hard like a bolt of lightning and feels no transformation from chanting Your name. Downcast, O Hari, I cry out Your name again and again in great distress.
দীন দয়াময় করুণানিদান
ভাববিন্দু দেই রাখহ পরাণ ২

O You who are merciful to the fallen! O root cause of compassion! Please give me a drop of bhāva and save my life.
কবে তব নাম উচ্চারণে মোর
নয়নে ঝরব দরদর লোর ৩
kabe taba nāma uccāraṇe mora
nayane jharaba daradara lora 3
kabe — when; taba — Your; nāma — name; uccāraṇe — upon uttering; mora — my; nayane — from eyes; jharaba — will stream; daradara — continuous and rapid flow; lora — (aśru) tears
When will tears flow continuously from my eyes upon uttering Your holy name?
গদগদস্বর কণ্ঠে উপজব
মুখে বোল আধ আধ বাহিরাব ৪
gadagada-sbara kaṇṭhe upajaba
mukhe bola ādha ādha bāhirāba 4
gadagada — choked; sbara — voice; kaṇṭhe — in the throat; upajaba — (saṁghaṭit hôibe) I will make; mukhe — from mouth; bola — words; ādha ādha — half half; bāhirāba — I will let out
My throat then choked, only stuttered half-syllables will issue from my mouth.
পুলকে ভরব শরীর হামার
স্বেদকম্পস্তম্ভ হবে বারবার ৫
pulake bharaba śarīra hāmāra
sbeda-kampa-stambha habe bārabāra 5
pulake — in goose bumps, horripilation; bharaba — I will be covered; śarīra — body; hāmāra — my; sbeda — perspire; kampa — tremble; stambha — stunned; habe — will become; bārabāra — again and again
My whole body shall be covered in goose bumps, and I shall perspire, tremble, and become stunned again and again.
বিবর্ণশরীরে হারাওব জ্ঞান
নামসমাশ্রয়ে ধরবুং পরাণ ৬
bibarṇa-śarīre hārāoba jñāna
nāma-samāśraye dharabũ parāṇa 6
bibarṇa — pale; śarīre — body; hārāoba — I will lose; jñāna — consciousness; nāma — the holy name; samāśraye — shelter of, dependence on, connection with; dharabũ — I will hold; parāṇa — life
My body becoming pale, I shall lose consciousness and then hold onto my life by taking shelter of the holy name.
মিলব হামার কিএ ঐছে দিন
রোয়ে ভক্তিবিনোদ মতিহীন ৭
milaba hāmāra kie aiche dina
roye bhaktibinoda matihīna 7
milaba — I will meet; hāmāra — my; kie — will it be; aiche — such; dina — day; roye — (krandan kare) weeps; bhaktibinoda — Bhaktivinoda; matihīna — intelligence + devoid of
Bhaktivinoda, who is devoid of intelligence, weeps, “O Lord, will I ever encounter such a day?”
