ভজনে উৎসাহ, ভক্তিতে বিশ্বাস,
প্রেমলাভে ধৈর্যধন

অসৎসঙ্গ বিসর্জন ১

bhajane utsāha, bhaktite biśbāsa,
premalābhe dhairya-dhana
bhakti-anukūla, karma-prabartana,
asatsaṅga bisarjana 1
hari — Hari; he — O; bhajane — (śravaṇ-kīrtanādi bhaktyanuṣṭhāne) in loving service (for the devotional practices of hearing, chanting and so on); utsāha — enthusiasm; bhaktite — (bhakti-siddhānte) in devotion (in the conclusive truths of devotion); biśbāsa — (āsthā) faith (acting according to); premalābhe — (kṛṣṇa prīti) divine love (loving attachment to Kṛṣṇa) + in attaining; dhairya — patience; dhana — the asset; bhakti — devotion; anukūla — favorable; karma — activities; prabartana — (pravṛtta haoyā) bringing into use (to be engaged in); asatsaṅga — bad, ill, mundane + association; bisarjana — giving up, renouncing, abandonment
O Hari! Enthusiasm in bhajana, faith in the process of bhakti, the asset of patience in attaining the goal of prema, the initiation of works favorable to bhakti, the abandonment of ill association...
ভক্তিসদাচার, এই ছয় গুণ,
নহিল আমার নাথ
কেমনে ভজিব, তোমার চরণ,
ছাḓইয়া মায়ার সাথ ২
bhakti-sadācāra, ei chaya guṇa,
nahila āmāra nātha
kemane bhajiba, tomāra caraṇa,
chāḓiyā māyāra sātha 2
bhakti — devotion; sadācāra — good behavior, virtuous practice enjoined by the scriptures; ei — these; chaya — six; guṇa — qualities; nahila — I have not; āmāra — mine; nātha — O Lord; kemane — how; bhajiba — I will serve; tomāra — Your; caraṇa — feet; chāḓiyā — having given up; māyāra — illusion’s; sātha — (saṅga GM) company
...and good behavior favorable to bhakti—I have never had any of these six qualities. O Lord, how will I serve Your lotus feet and give up my affiliation with māyā?
গর্হিত আচারে, রহিলাম মজিঽ,
না করিনু সাধুসঙ্গ
লঽয়ে সাধুবেশ, আনে উপদেশি,
এ বḓঅ মায়ার রঙ্গ ৩

nā karinu sādhusaṅga
la’ye sādhu-beśa, āne upadeśi,
e baḓa māyāra raṅga 3
garhita — (nindita) utterly condemned, abominable, vile (despicable); ācāre — (karme) in conduct (in activities); rahilāma — I remained; maji’ — having been immersed; nā — not; karinu — I have done; sādhusaṅga — saints + association; la’ye — having taken; sādhu — saints; beśa — garb; āne — (anyake GM) to others; upadeśi — (upadeś kôri GM) I instruct; e — this; baḓa — big; māyāra — māyā’s; raṅga — (vicitra khelā) joke, fun (strange play)
I remain immersed in vile behavior, and I have never kept the company of saints. Yet taking the garb of a saint, I instruct others! This is māyā’s big joke.
এ হেন দশায়, অহৈতুকী ক্ড়্পা,
তোমার পাইব, হরি
শ্রীগুরুআশ্রয়ে, ডাকিব তোমায়,
কবে বা মিনতি করিঽ ৪

kabe bā minati kari’ 4
e — this; hena — such; daśāya — in condition; ahaitukī — causeless; kṛpā — grace; tomāra — Your; pāiba — I shall receive; hari — O Hari; śrīguru — spiritual master; āśraye — in the shelter; ḍākiba — I will call out; tomāya — to You; kabe — when; bā — [used to emphasize a question]; minati kari’ — having humbly prayed, earnestly request, supplicated
In such a condition, I shall receive Your causeless grace, O Hari. When, in the shelter of śrī guru, will I call out to You in supplication?
