হরি হে!
সঙ্গদোষশূন্য, দীক্ষিতাদীক্ষিত,
যদি তব নাম গায়
মানসে আদর, করিব তাংহারে,
জানিঽ নিজজন তাঽয় ১

saṅgadoṣa-śūnya, dīkṣitādīkṣita,
yadi taba nāma gāya
mānase ādara, kariba tā̃hāre,
jāni’ nija-jana tā’ya 1
hari — Hari; he — O; saṅgadoṣa — association + (asat) faulty (bad); śūnya — (mukta) devoid (freed); dīkṣitādīkṣita — (śrī guru-padāśrit) initiated (sheltered at the feet of śrī guru) + (tat-pūrvāvasthā prāpta) not initiated (attained the situation just before that [attaining the shelter of śrī guru]); yadi — if; taba — Your; nāma — name; gāya — sings; mānase — in mind; ādara kariba — (tāhār hṛdgata bhāver prati sammān) I will honor (honoring the feelings [bhāv] lying inside his heart); tā̃hāre — to him; jāni’ — having known; nija — own; jana — person; tā’ya — him
O Hari! Initiated or not, if one free from bad association sings Your name, I will mentally honor him, knowing him to be a kindred soul.
দীক্ষিত হইয়া, ভজে তুয়া পদ,
তাংহারে প্রণতি করি
অনন্যভজনে, বিজ্ঞ যেই জন,
তাংহারে সেবিব, হরি ২

tā̃hāre praṇati kari
ananya-bhajane, bijña yei jana,
tā̃hāre sebiba, hari 2
dīkṣita — initiated; ha·iyā — having been; bhaje — serves; tuyā — Your; pada — feet; tā̃hāre — (sad-guru padāśraye prakāśit bhakti cihṇa bhaktake) to him (to a devotee who, sheltered at the feet of a pure guru, has manifested symptoms of devotion); praṇati kari — (maryādā dān kôribô, arthāt praṇām kôribô) I offer obeisances (I will give honor and respect, that is, I offer obeisances); ananya — (aikāntik) unalloyed, resolute (intense, earnest, single-minded); bhajane — (bhajan) in loving service and worship; bijña — (-śīler) experienced, expert (sfx. disposed to, practicing); yei — that; jana — person; tā̃hāre — to him; sebiba — (sevā kôribô) I will serve; hari — O Hari
To one who is initiated and serves Your feet, I will offer my obeisance. And to one experienced in one-pointed bhajana, I will serve, O Hari!
সর্বভূতে সম, যে ভক্তের মতি,
তাংহার দর্শনে মানি
আপনাকে ধন্য, সেসঙ্গ পাইয়া,
চরিতার্থ হইলুং জানি ৩
sarbabhūte sama, ye bhaktera mati,
tā̃hāra darśane māni
āpanāke dhanya, se-saṅga pāiyā,
caritārtha ha·ilũ jāni 3
sarbabhūte — (samuday) all (all persons or things) + (vastute) to living beings (to the things); sama — (kṛṣṇa sambandha) equipoised (related to Kṛṣṇa); ye — that; bhaktera — devotee’s; mati — (-darśī) mentality, disposition (sfx. perceiving); tā̃hāra — (bhaktake) his (to the devotee); darśane — by getting sight, audience; māni — I consider; āpanāke — to myself; dhanya — fortunate; se — his; saṅga — association; pāiyā — having received; caritārtha — (kṛtārtha) successful, one whose desires have been fulfilled; ha·ilũ — I became; jāni — I know
I consider it my fortune to have received the darśana of that devotee who is equipoised in regard to all living beings. I know that having obtained his association, I have become successful.
নিষ্কপট মতি, বৈষ্ণবের প্রতি,
এই ধর্ম কবে পাঽব
কবে এ সংসার, সিন্ধু পার হঽয়ে,
তব ব্রজপুরে যাঽব ৪
niṣkapaṭa mati, baiṣṇabera prati,
ei dharma kabe pā’ba
kabe e saṁsāra-, sindhu pāra ha’ye,
taba brajapure yā’ba 4
niṣkapaṭa — (akṛtrima-bhāve) non-deceitful, sincere (in a natural, genuine, non-artificial way); mati — attitude; baiṣṇabera — Vaiṣṇava’s; prati — towards; ei — this; dharma — virtue; kabe — when; pā’ba — I will achieve; kabe — when; e — this; saṁsāra — worldly existence; sindhu — ocean; pāra ha’ye — having crossed; taba — Your; brajapure — Vraja + to the abode; yā’ba — I will go
When will I achieve the virtue of being sincere in my attitude toward the Vaiṣṇavas? Oh, when will I cross over this ocean of worldly existence and reach Your abode of Vraja?
